MONTISI – MONTELIFRÈ RING

Length: 10 Km
Difficulty: medium-low

This is a rather short trail and suitable for everyone, it is really impressive. In addition to visiting the characteristic village of Montisi and the ruined castle of Montelifrè, you will enjoy very beautiful panoramic views over the Crete Senesi. This is a ring: departure and arrival are at the same parking place.

BETWEEN VAL D’ORCIA AND CRETE SENESI

This path is longer than the previous one and slightly more difficult. It starts from the crossroad at Lucignano d’Asso where you can park your car and head towards Torrenieri following the course of the Asso river along the Cassia road. The first part of the route is characterized by wide flat stretches. At the crossroad to Torrenieri turn left and leave the Cassia road. After passing the town, continue towards Bellaria, Celamonti and Cosona. From there along the dirt road you can admire beautiful landscapes all around you. After Cosona the trail continues to the beautiful village of Lucignano d’Asso where you can stop for a rest. From here you descend quickly and after a series of curves you reach the starting point.

ANCIENT ROAD OF SERRE DI RAPOLANO

Length: 12 Km
Difficulty: medium-high

This path is little bit challenging, characterized by uphill sections followed by descents, typical of this area. Anyway the path haven’t any particular difficulties.

This path offers many evocative views for photography enthusiasts. The route crosses the countryside among hills with rare farmhouses. The most typical landscape of the Crete Senesi. Somewhere the road surface can be impervious, so it is recommended to use suitable shoes and hiking poles.
